CANON R5C

The Canon EOS R5c will feature Unlimited 8K Recording launching in 2022

In this year, Canon will release the EOS R5c, “videographer-focus [ed] EOS R5,” according to Canon Rumors.
Canon EOS R5, despite the initial excitement surrounding its 8K / 30p recording capabilities, was widely regarded as a video disappointment; its tendency to overheat to 8K, and even when recording at 4K / 60p, has made it all unusable for critical video photographers who want to push beyond 4K / 30p. And while the EOS R5 has found success among motionless photographers, the lack of functional 8K has continued to frustrate Canon fans.

canon camera

But with the cinema-centric Canon EOS R5c on the horizon, videographers can easily relax. Canon Rumors says the R5c will directly address the problems of overheating the R5 with active cooling technology, bringing “unlimited recording of 8K / 30p” (and, we think, with unlimited 4K / 60p recording).

Basically, this means taking daily photos in 4K / 60p and / or 8K / 30p, recording multiple sequences, making consistent vlogging, high resolution, and more. It will also be integrated with the EOS R5’s outstanding shooting capabilities, possibly with a 45 MP full-frame sensor, body image stabilization, full-featured touch screen, and class-based autofocus.
Canon Rumors also talks about a “slightly different form factor” on the EOS R5c, but don’t expect major design changes – the only fix is to create a cool refuge.

Assuming that Canon retains all the current features of the Canon R5 and simply improves video performance, the new camera is likely to have a higher price than the EOS R5 (which already has a larger price), currently selling for $ 3900. However, it is cheaper than the other; keep in mind the prices of the Sony a1 – about $ 6500 – and the upcoming Nikon Z9 – $ 5500 – which are the only two integrated cameras capable of shooting at 8K.

When will Canon release EOS R5c? The first announcement was scheduled for October of this year, but Canon Rumors now believes that it should get R5c released next year – which is likely to get the first quarter, although CR is “not sure at this time if that [previously rumored] timeline is still accurate.”

If you are a Canon user and interested in unlimited 8K video, you should not have to wait too long for that now. In the meantime, share your thoughts on the comments below:

Canon EOS 250D vs Canon EOS M50

Canon EOS 250D and Canon EOS M50 are digital cameras and were announced in April 2019 and February 2018 respectively. Canon 250D is a DSLR camera, while the M50 is a mirrorless camera. Both have APS-C sensor and they both offer a resolution of 24 megapixel results..

Here is a glance comparison of both cameras.

122 x 93 x 70 mm, 449 g 116 x 88 x 59 mm, 390 g

Comparison of Body

The two cameras are presented according to their sizes. Both cameras’ all height, width, and depth measures are rounded to the nearest mm.

Both canons cameras are available in black and white.

If we take the front view area of the cameras as a total measure of the size, the Canon EOS M50 is 10% smaller and 13 % lighter than the Canon 250D.

Sensor comparison

The sensor inside a digital camera is one of the key determinants of image quality and its size matters a lot. A large sensor means larger individual pixels which is eventually results in a wider dynamic range, better low-light sensitivity, and richer color-depth than smaller pixel-units in a sensor of the same technological generation. Also, it offers the photographer more control over depth-of-field. Larger sensors downside is that, that they tend to be associated with larger, and expensive camera lenses and bodies.

Canon’s cameras have a format factor of 1.6, an APS-C sensor, and a native aspect ratio of 3:2.

Canon EOS 250D has a sensitivity range from ISO 100 to ISO 25600 and can be extended to ISO 100-51200 respectively whereas, the M50 offers exactly the same ISO settings.

Feature comparison

After a comparison of body and sensor, we will check the features of the two cameras as they both differ. Like the M50 has an electronic viewfinder (2360k dots), while the 250D has an optical one.

Both have their own benefits like with the EVF it is possible to project supplementary shooting information into the framing image, and in the optical viewfinder, you cannot view and project a clear framing view.

Canon 250D and the Canon M50 both cameras have an articulated screen that can be turned to the front-facing. This is really great for photographers who are interested in taking selfies and vloggers.

Both cameras have an intervalometer built-in. This feature enables the photographer to capture time-lapse sequences, for example, a sunset, moonrise, or a flower blooming, without having an external camera trigger.

Connectivity comparison

Some applications prefer the extent to which a camera can communicate in its surroundings and it can be an important aspect in the camera decision. In particular, the interfaces the cameras provide for data transfer and accessory control.

Canon vs sony

Comparison – Canon EOS R Vs Sony A7III Camera

If you are thinking to buy or your decision is pending then do not worry, we have got some point in helping you choose between your next full-frame mirrorless camera in this critical review of Canon EOS R vs Sony A 7 III.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced mirrorless camera in the market then you may have noticed that the competition is really tough and close.

Canon EOS R and Sony a7III are not the latest touchscreen mirrorless cameras released but the fact is they are really powerful and created on most technical features.

Below you will find the crucial differences which will help you make your decision easier and faster.

Key Differences – Canon EOS R & Sony A7III

1. Viewfinder

Buying a mirrorless full-frame or any camera is interesting when you see the viewfinder for the first time. You are either let down or amazed.

The quality of the viewfinder in the Sony camera is not good enough and there doesn’t have the wow factor to make two thousand dollars cash to pay for it till you really evaluate whether it is the best buy and worth it.

Canon EOS R on the other hand will tickle your mind looking through the dreamlike viewfinder, especially if you are already seen what Sony has to offer and looking at it after that.

2. Rear LCD Screen

The Canon EOS R and the Sony A7 III both have to articulate rear LCD touch screens, but they have considerable differences between them.

If you already own a Sony mirrorless camera, you will probably find the Sony A7 III’s 3″ touch screen with 921,600 DPI better, and it seems fantastic till you see Canon’s rear LCD system.

Canon 2,100,000 DPI with 3.2″ LCD blows Sony’s screen less attractive in size and resolution.

3. Video

Today even expert photographers shoot some videos to go along with their photos. Both cameras- Sony and Canon offer 4K video for the web but here also with some good differences.

Capturing  wide landscape shots with your Canon EOS R video is going to accommodate wider lenses – which means spending a good amount of money

Whereas Sony captures 4K video at 24p and 6K and downsamples to get with 5K resolution with a 1.2x crop to provide 4K video at 30p. Video resolution of Sony is professional levels and above Canon’s video results definitely.

4. Sensor and Processor

Canon’s resolution is a 30.3mp full-frame CMOS sensor (36x24mm) with DIGIC 8 processor and the same size as Sony’s A7 III 24.2mp full-frame Exmore R CMOS sensor (35.6×23.8mm) with BIONZ X processor. A low pass filter is included in both cameras’ sensors.

But the resolution of the Canon camera does not matter in this competition when the full-frame sensor size is the same

5. Battery Life

Battery life is an important feature but you either care about it a lot, or you don’t care at all and tend to buy more batteries.

Canon EOS R full-frame camera uses the LP-E6N lithium-ion battery 1865mAh and is good for more than 300 shots per charge.

On the other hand, Sony A7 III operates 2280mAh which they rate as good for more than 700 shots in a single charge.

Hence, the Sony camera’s battery life is more than 22% bigger.

6. Image Stabilization

You get it or not but the fact is Canon doesn’t have image stabilization whereas Sony’s a7III has it.

Sony A7 III has the superiority of this feature over Canon because it has the feature of in-camera sensor-based optical stabilization of 5-axis.

7. Price

Canon EOS R is around $200 which is cheaper than the Sony A7 III (Check price on our SHOP).

LAST WORDS

Both Canon and Sony have tough and close competitors. Many consider Sony the mirrorless full-frame company to beat Canon, but it also offers a wider lenses selection.

EOS 700D vs D5300: The sensors

Both cameras use the same sensor format: APS-C (called DX by Nikon). This infographic highlights the sensor areas of both models compared to other common sensor formats:

EOS 700D vs D5300: The viewfinders

The EOS 700D uses an optical viewfinder with a penta mirror. The viewfinder covers 95% of the field of view and has a magnification of 0.53x.
The D5300 features an optical viewfinder with a penta mirror that also covers 95% of the field of view, its magnification is c. 0.55x.
This infographic illustrates the viewfinder magnifications of both cameras. The black area represents a magnification of 1x, corresponding to natural size; indicated in red is a magnification of 0.85x, the highest value in a any camera on the market today.

Sensor size is generally a good indicator of the quality of the camera. Sensors can vary greatly in size. As a general rule, the bigger the sensor, the better the image quality.

Bigger sensors are more effective because they have more surface area to capture light. An important factor when comparing digital cameras is also camera generation. Generally, newer sensors will outperform the older.

Best Canon gear of the year: fantastic cameras, lenses and flashguns from Canon

Everything just gets better in 2021! From budget-friendly beginners’ cameras, to exotic lenses, dazzling flash kits, tricked-up tripods and beyond, we’ve seen some fabulous gear from Canon this year.

Looking for the best Canon camera? Canon has launched some stunning models in its photographic line-up. Other manufacturers including Benro, Elinchrom and Manfrotto, to name but a few, have also really impressed us.

Canon EOS M50

The Canon EOS M50 mirrorless system camera is compact and lightweight, and we love its retracting 15-45mm kit lens, which delivers excellent wide-angle potential. Despite its size, the M50 feels like a ‘proper’ camera, with its electronic viewfinder and sculpted finger grip. Around the back, the fully articulated ‘vari-angle’ touchscreen makes for slick and intuitive control. We’re also impressed that the 24MP Dual Pixel AF image sensor ensures rapid autofocus and great image quality.

Canon EOS 1500D with 18-55mm Lens

We like that the Canon EOS 1500D with 18-55mm Lens small and lightweight enough to take anywhere and everywhere and that it’s so simple to use. The vari-angle screen enables novel shooting angles, injecting fun into photography.

And when we’re in a more serious shooting mood, the dual control dials and top-panel info LCD come to the fore, as featured on enthusiast-level cameras.

Super specs include a Dual Pixel AF image sensor, 45-point autofocus system, a 5-axis sensor-shift stabilizer for movies, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth. We love having so much packed into such a small DSLR.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II

Initial reaction to the Canon EOS 6D Mark II from some quarters suggested the tonal range and high-ISO noise suppression weren’t as good as from the original 6D, but there’s very little in it and the Mark II has 30% more megapixels under the bonnet. Advertisementhttps://677fe3ed51b5759dab891473293b0346.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

Both autofocus systems are massively better, with phase-detection AF rising from 11 points (only one cross-type) to 45 points (all cross-type), while Dual Pixel AF makes for vastly improved autofocus in live view and movie capture.

The latter also benefits from in-camera stabilization, while other improvements include a vari-angle touchscreen and a faster 6.5fps burst rate. All in all, it’s a fabulous camera and the EF 24-105mm IS STM kit lens is well worth having.

LENSES

Canon EF 35mm

The Canon EF 35mm has excellent image quality, compact and lightweight built, and the inclusion of image stabilization makes it a top choice for street photography when using a full-frame. The same combo of highlights also makes it a superb ‘standard prime’ for APS-C format DSLRs, on which it has an effective focal length of 56mm. This gives a very natural viewing perspective, compared with the more wide-angle view that it delivers on a full-frame camera.

Canon EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS II USM Lens

The Mark II edition of this lens has been the go-to telephoto for top professional photographers around the world, since 2010. It’s so good that the brand new Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM adds very little. Unlike Canon’s new 70-200mm f/4L IS II USM, there are no improvements in the autofocus and stabilization systems, and the glass remains essentially the same. The key upgrade is that a high-tech ASC (Air Sphere Coating) is applied to the 19th element in the optical path, which further reduces ghosting and flare. Fluorine coatings are also added to the front and rear elements, to repel moisture and grease. It’s still the best Canon-fit 70-200mm lens on the market, and now it’s just a little better.

FLASHGUNS

Canon Speedlite 320EX

Canon Speedlite 320EX II is a versatile flash that includes an LED light on the front that can be used as a modeling light, an AF assist beam during Live View shooting, or to light up nearby subjects in low light for video recording. It will provide up to 4 hours of continuous lighting with fully-charged AA batteries. The 320EX is E-TTL- and E-TTL II-compatible using Type-A EOS cameras, and it has a guide number of 78.7?/24m @100 ISO at 24mm.

Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-26EX-RT

For close-up shooting with a macro lens, a regular flashgun can yield awful results with harsh shadows. This revamped and rejuvenated ‘Macro Twin Lite’ solves the problem. The control unit slots into the hotshoe of a camera, and the two miniature flash heads clip onto a mounting ring that attaches to the front of most Canon macro lenses. Adaptors are available for other lenses with filter threads of between 52mm and 72mm. We like that the redesigned control panel is more intuitive, and that the use of two independent flash heads enables wide-ranging close-up lighting techniques. It beats ring lights which give completely shadow-free results that can look flat and two-dimensional. We also love the high-intensity LED lamps which can be a real help when focusing.

Canon Announces Firmware Updates for R5 & R6

Canon R5 and R6 are all getting firmware updates—Canon software will also receive updates.

Canon announced the immediate release of firmware updates of its high-end cameras, adding several features that users have been asking for.  Two of Canon’s most recent releases, the EOS R5 and R6 cameras, will be getting firmware updates v1.3 and v1.3, respectively—the firmware updates are not identical. Both cameras, which were released over this past summer, are part of Canon’s high-end line of full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Increased image quality and usability

The Canon EOS R5 will benefit from a number of upgrades including Full HD 120p and support for greater customization of the camera. Users will now able to save personalized and preferred camera settings to a memory card, which can be copied across to a different camera or used when settings are adjusted. There is also the option to turn the LCD monitor off during shooting and use it for playback only, providing a familiar DSLR-style operation. For both the EOS R5 and Canon EOS R6, the firmware achieves full-time manual support for RF lenses, allowing photographers to override the focus of RF lenses manually when in Servo AF mode.

Streamlined professional workflows

For the EOS R5, professional photographers can safeguard and quickly share photos with the new Protect Image Transfer function allowing protected images to be locked – preventing them from accidentally being deleted – and transferred via FTP. Across the EOS R5, professionals can now see FTP Transfer status on the display clearly showing how long it will take to transfer pictures.

Enhanced video functionality

This firmware enables low-bit rate RAW movies reducing the size of RAW video files making file transfer faster for the EOS R5. The update also provides enhanced video capabilities for the EOS R5 with the addition of Canon Log 3 – the log gamma curve used by all Canon Cinema EOS cameras enabling greater dynamic range, superior colour editing capabilities, and easier file management. For even greater flexibility of filming formats across all cameras, this firmware unlocks a lower bit rate IPB movie option creating small, easily shareable video files.

Following the release of the R5 and R6 cameras last year, it quickly became clear that both cameras suffered from an overheating issue when recording high-resolution video. Firmware updates were quickly released to address the overheating issue on both mirrorless cameras, but the controversy surrounding their initial release has cast some doubt on the camera manufacturer.

The firmware updates are all available right now, as well as the software updates to several different Canon software. The EOS Utility software is receiving update v3.13.1. Canon is providing support for devices using Apple M1 processors. Rosetta for Digital Photo Professional is getting update v4.14.

Best Canon Camera 2021: Top Mirrorless, DSLR, and Compact

Canon are still the leading camera brand in 2021, despite some fierce competition from the likes of Sony and Nikon.

Canon have recently been concentrating most of their efforts on full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, quickly developing a superb range of of bodies and lenses to rival the best that their rivals have to offer.

What is the Best Canon Camera in 2021?

Here’s our list of the best Canon cameras that you can buy in 2021:

Best Canon Mirrorless Camera 2021

Canon were a little late to the mirrorless party, only releasing their first full-frame model in 2018, but they’ve certainly been making up for lost time in recent years with the release of a slew of new cameras and lenses.

Chief among these is the EOS R5, a 45 megapixel camera that can shoot at 20 frames per second and can also record 8K video.

If the R5 is too expensive, there are three other excellent options available, the EOS R6, EOS R and EOS RP (in descending price order).

Canon also has a range of APS-C sensor mirrorless cameras, the EOS M series, which has received a little less love in terms of development but is still worth considering if you can’t stretch the budget to a full-frame model.

Best Canon DSLR Camera 2021

Just when most people assumed that DSLRs were going to die a slow death, Canon decided to prove otherwise. The EOS 90D is the first camera of its kind to boast a 32.5MP sensor and, alongside a Digic 8 processor, gives the snapper the ability to capture 4K video at up to 30fps which, thankfully is uncropped. While it’s the same sensor and image engine pairing as the EOS M6 Mark II mentioned above, the EOS 90D doesn’t quite have the speed of its mirrorless cousin, instead of topping out 11fps when shooting continuously in live view mode.

There’s a new metering sensor under the hood as well and its performance is excellent, exposing areas of light and shadow to near-perfection. However, we did find that due to the high pixel density on the crop sensor, noise performance isn’t the best but for the most part that can be taken care of during post-production.

Digital SLRs have been Canon’s best-selling cameras for many years now, and even with the recent advent of mirrorless, they still make up a large part of the company’s overall sales. Indeed, Canon are still the number one player in the DSLR market.

Consequently they offer a vast range of different models, from the Olympics-level EOS-1D X Mark III right down to the beginner-focused EOS 2000D camera.

If you want an interchangeable lens camera and prefer an optical viewfinder to an electronic one, Canon literally have a DSLR for every budget.
